In this interview Erika talks about YaV, an offshoot of Netherlands-based Child at Venture, and their mission to uplift the state of out-of-school youth through entrepreneurship. She also delves into how it is to be an NGO worker

As in anywhere else in the world, smartphone activations are on the rise in the Philippines… and with this phenomenon comes a fresh opportunity for enterprising Filipinos—mobile apps development. This is what the team behind TrafficDito.com (TD) had in mind.
Combining existing and fledgling technologies, the TD team created the TrafficDito iOS app, the country’s first social monitoring app that helps users identify trouble spots in Metro Manila through fellow app users and Twitter. Simple plan with a noble cause indeed…but it does not stop there. In the furtherance of their service to the community, TD has cooked a partnership with Tulong Dunong Foundation Inc. (TDFI) in support of their mission to provide free education to the less fortunate.
EJ dela Vega, Product Marketing Padawan (google: Star Wars) and “Food Consumption Specialist” for Team TrafficDito, talks to Greater Good Philippines and reveals the inspiration behind the hit iOS traffic information app. EJ also explains the AralDito Project which aims to raise funds for the benefit of TDFI.
The Tulong Dunong Foundation Inc. partners with Ateneo de Manila, Miriam College and St. Scholastica’s College- Marikina in providing education to qualified students. TDFI grants tuition and fees exemptions to those who eventually get admitted to their school.
