World music visits youth shelter

Vigorous yet soulful rythmic beatings produce music. And this is what a group of world music advocates taught the youth of Pangarap Shelter.

On November 7, members of Unitiima and Kalayo visited the youth center for a night of learning and dancing. The participants were taught how to create music using percussion, primarily with a five-gallon water bottle, and given the chance to showcase their new found skills.

Cecil Artates, Hands On Manila sherpa and long-time volunteer at Pangarap Shelter, invited the band members to the Pasay City youth home.
